Teaching

I am passionate about education and preparing the next generation to tackle pressing environmental issues. I have worked on two separate educational modules while in graduate school in addition to teaching multiple lab sessions.

Freshwater Ecology TA

During the Fall semesters in 2021 - 2024, I led a lab of approximately 16 students and assisting with another of similar size. My role involved guiding students on field trips and lab activities, teaching the fundamentals of freshwater ecology sampling and monitoring. I helped students develop and execute semester-long group research projects, which involved data collection and analysis. As the lab session instructor, I was responsible for all grading, and I also assisted with exam grading for the lecture component of the class.

Ethics in Ecological Forecasting

We developed a set of case studies modules to be used in undergraduate or graduate classes that discuss ethical considerations of developing and disseminating ecological forecasts. These modules were developed with collaborators from the Ecological Forecasting Initiative.
